About Showroom3
Showroom3 is a project that started on a Need for Speed fansite NFSUnlimited.net as a part of the site where users would create their own unique cars in the Need for Speed games, take a pictures of them and upload them to the site to have them rated and commented by other users. The basic features were only rating and commenting, but with the help of NFSUnlimited.net's users, especially Tim Monfries, it soon grew to be the main site feature where users interacted through themed challenges, one on one duels, connected through groups, wrote their own logs and more. From that came the idea of expanding the showroom to cover all sorts of categories, not just games. And that's how Showroom3 was born. Development started in late February 2006 and in April 2006 it went online with the initial 1000 users transferred from the original showroom on NFSUnlimited.net.
Showroom3 is meant as a community website where people interact through their creations - which can be either from one of the games we cover or from the more traditional sources, like classic art or photography. By submitting their work to Showroom3, users can find out what other users think about it or even join one of the many competitions or one on one duels. Their work will accumulate reputation which basically means how much their work is known on Showroom3. Reputation will be acquired with comments and votes, by challenging others to duels, participating in competitions... To find out more about it, create an account and start exploring if you haven't done so already!
